Business law (also referred to as Commercial Law) encompasses the many established rules, statutes, codes, and regulations, which govern commercial relationships and provide a legal framework within which businesses may be conducted and managed.

Business law covers the law governing transactional business (contracts), sales, commercial paper, agency and employment law, business organizations, business planning, property, business negotiations, mergers and acquisition, divestitures and bailments. Other popular business law areas include insurance, wills and estate planning, and consumer and creditor protection.
